Balboa Park is one of the great treasures of San Diego. Home to the San Diego Zoo, fantastic museums, and fabulous cultural events, it is one of the places we find ourselves visiting many times throughout the year. Balboa Park will be celebrating its
centennial in 2015 with spectacular events and exhibits.
The Passport to Balboa Park is a great way to visit many of the museums in the park at a great price. A one-time purchase can be made for $53 for adults and $29 for children allowing you to visit 14 of the park’s museums within a seven-day time period. Another pass available is the passport plus zoo combination for $89 for adults and $52 for children.
The museums included in this special pass include the Fleet Science Center, Air and Space Museum, San Diego Natural History Museum, the Museum of Man and more. Visit the Balboa Park website for a complete listing of participating museums.
The Stay-for-the-Day Pass is another great option. You can enjoy 5 of the 14 museums in one day for $43.
You can purchase your pass in advance. Some museums are closed on Mondays. Special exhibits are usually not included in the pass.
The museums at Balboa Park are a great educational and fun place to take kids. We have been to most of them and have never been disappointed. The passes would be especially great for out-of-town visitors to enjoy as much of Balboa Park as they can while visiting.
