Left the world of sales/marketing to raise my 4 energetic boys. I homeschool. I do natural birth. I cook, play piano, scuba dive. I love exploring new places, especially with my family.

San Diego County Fair

San Diego Ferris Wheel #sandiegomama

One of the great kick-offs to summer is the San Diego County Fair.  Beginning June 7th, the Fab Fair comes to the Del Mar Fairgrounds for a month of attractions, exhibits, rides, food, concerts and more.

The fair includes animals on display and farm equipment, rides and games, fair food and shopping, and cars on display – woodies, muscle cars and hot rods.  The Family Funville Kids Zone is perfect for toddlers and young children with more than 40 rides sized just for them. The family area also has arts and crafts, hands-on science activities, stories with local authors and illustrators, magician shows, and more. Most of the concerts are free with admission and include performances by Huey Lewis and the News, Pentatonix, The Fab Four and more.

The fair is closed Mondays and the first two Tuesdays. The fair is open usually at 10 or 11 am and closes at 10 or 11 pm.  See detailed fair hours here.  Admission is $14 for adults, $8 for kids ages 6-12 and 5 and under is free.  You can buy a pass for $24 that will get you in all 24 days of the fair if you want to go again and again. Kids Days are Tuesday, June 24th and Tuesday, July 1st.  All kids 12 and under are free.  Kids can also complete this reading certificate, reading 10 books and get free admission to the fair.  You can also check the San Diego County Fair website for more information on discounts.

Go enjoy a family day at the fair and get your summer started off with a blast!
