Take my all-time favorite sporting event – the Olympics – and combine it with one of our favorite sites to visit in San Diego, and you’ve got the makings of a don’t-miss-event!! The USS Midway is hosting a FREE event to celebrate opening night of the Winter Olympics! I’m so excited, I can hardly contain myself. This sounds like so much fun.
On, Thursday, February 7th at 6:30 pm the Opening Ceremonies of the Winter Olympics, held in Sochi, Russia, will be broadcast on big screens aboard the USS Midway. There will be an assortment of family-fun activities to celebrate this exciting night.
– Food concessions and bar will include Russian-themed eats and drinks
– The Midway is creating snow for a “winter wonderland”
– BH Skating International is creating a New Wave Ice Skating rink on the flight deck!
– Meet Olympic and Paraolympic athletes
Bring a camera because there will be some great photo opportunities: meeting an Olympic athlete or a photo with a replica of the Olympic torch or one of the fun wintery activities. You can bring a light lawn chair or blanket to sit on. Be sure to enter the raffle prizes and possibly win ski lift tickets, museum passes, or Olympic merchandise.
Come cheer on Team USA and have a great night as a family. Get all the information on the USS Midway’s website.
