One of the most beloved musicals to audiences young and old, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, is coming to Broadway San Diego, this week, running January 7th-12th (see show times below).
This award-winning show began on Broadway in 1994, after the movie version had such great success in 1991. I am beyond excited to see the show later this week (compliments of BroadwaySD) since Belle has always been one of my favorite Disney princesses, probably because of her love of books and how she can look so good in yellow. Plus, the plot line is one that never gets old: never judge a beast by its cover, or something like that.
One of the most creative aspects of this production is how the inanimate characters like Mrs. Potts, Chip, Lumiere and Cogsworth, come to life. I will be interviewing the actor who plays Lumiere, so stay tuned later this week for my Q & A with the cutest candlestick in town.
