My husband and I celebrated our last anniversary at Whisknlade. We were looking for something different, something special. And we found it. The idea of this restaurant is farm-fresh food, made from scratch, so the menu changes seasonally.
I’m not sure I have ever enjoyed such a delightful combination of flavors as we did at Whisknlade. It’s not just tasty food; it’s a conversation between flavors that is inspiring. We started with a board of meats and cheeses. I was thinking deli meats and cheeses. Oh, no. We had a variety of cheeses, including a goat cheese and one with berries. We had some salamis, including a fennel salami, almonds and craisins. For the main course, I tried out a light and fresh lemon pasta with fennel sausage and a tomato sauce. My husband, a big fan of seafood, had scallops. He said they were the best scallops he’s ever had. So soft and delicious.
We topped off the evening with white chocolate squares with lemon cake and raspberry and a chocolate cake with a caramel layer and sea salt with lavender ice cream. Lavender ice cream is remarkable. Such a perfect pairing with the chocolate, which I didn’t expect. They made it special for us adding a little anniversary note.
The service was fabulous. The waitress was friendly and very helpful discussing the menu with us. My husband loved everything we tried. I grew up quite a picky eater and although I’ve come a long way, this was a little out of my comfort zone. But I do love good food, and I’m so glad I tried Whisknladle. We had a fabulous anniversary there and I recommend it to anyone looking for something new.
