Left the world of sales/marketing to raise my 4 energetic boys. I homeschool. I do natural birth. I cook, play piano, scuba dive. I love exploring new places, especially with my family.

September Festivals in San Diego

I enjoy a good festival.  Learning about another culture or celebrating an historical event.  There’s usually good food and music and a lot of hands-on activities to enjoy.  There are a few festivals coming up in September, so mark your calendars and plan to visit at least one!

Festival of Sail – Maritime Museum

Friday, August 31st – Monday, September 3rd

9 am to 7 pm Daily

During Labor Day weekend, more than 20 Tall Ships will be coming into San Diego Bay for this festival.  Everyday there will be a petting zoo for kids, Tall Ship cannon battles, interaction with pirates as well as food and craft vendors.  Check the schedule and additional information to plan your trip as well as what tickets you want to purchase.

Pacific Islander Festival

September 22nd – 23rd

Ski Beach

Celebrating the Polynesian cultures of Melanisia, Micronesia, and Polynesia, this festival  is sure to have great entertainment, music and food.

Vista Viking Festival

September 29th-30th

10-8pm, 10-6 pm

A chance to “see, share, and sample all things Viking and Scandinavian.” With activities like the Fish Fling, Log Toss, Horn Blowing, and Battle Cry, this festival is sure to entertain.  There will be axe throwing and archery, spear throwing, and even flaming axes at night! The kidzone has plenty of fun for your kids to enjoy – arts and crafts, a jump house, games, swords and shields and popcorn.

Other places to go this Fall:
