Kids Think on Paper in Non-Fiction Publishing Contest

Weekly Reader is offering kids an opportunity to share their thoughts about the world around them in a new non-fiction publishing contest. Kids in grades 3-6 and 7-12 can write their memoirs, an essay, or even a story about news events.  The contest is homeschool-friendly and includes categories such as Individual Student Writing, Student Publications, and Online-Only Student Publications.  Any composition between 500 and 2500 words is eligible and must be written by February 28 and submitted using an official entry and information form.

Of course, there are prizes!  A round trip to Washington, DC and $500 but the best reward is that kids will be thinking.
