Hullabaloo Sing-A-Long

I’m continually on the hunt for fun kid’s music that doesn’t sound like kid’s music (like my fave, Justin Roberts). Lately I’ve been hearing a lot about a SoCal based kids’ musical duo called Hullabaloo who plays frequently in North County, so last week I took my kids to one of their concerts at the San Diego Botanic Gardens and we loved it. This dynamic duo, that crosses folk with rock n’roll, had the kids up dancing in no time with a mix of original music like Blah, Blah, Blah and Sippy Cup and many classic children’s songs like ABCs and Twinkle Twinkle, all with their own unique twist.

I love taking my kids to these kinds of shows so they can experience live entertainment and put their saucy dance moves to work. And these guys put on a great show (though my kids wanted to eave early because the people behind us were eating Rubio’s and their craving for fish tacos ultimately outweighed their desire to boogie–the PB&J sandwiches and carrots I brought were not cutting it, apparently). I highly recommend going to check them out, particularly at an outdoor venue like the SD Botanic Gardens. CLICK HERE for a list of their upcoming shows.

And if you do go to SDBG to see them perform, be sure to stop by the Elizabethan Bakery down the street for some mini-cupcakes that are to die for! Nothing like a little sugar rush to get your kiddos’ bodies movin’ and groovin’.

I love Hullabaloo! We have the “Tall as a Tree” album and I get such a kick out of the lyrics. I'm jealous you get to see them perform in person…send 'em to Utah. 🙂
